This year at SOAWorld 2008, Jesus Rodriguez presented the session Can We All Get Along? Using REST and WS-* in the Enterprise:
Over recent years the REST versus WS-* debate has been at the center of discussion in the Web Services community. In this debate, we have seen advocates from both camps paint a black-or-white picture of systems development using only one or the other approach. However, there are important things that both sides can learn from one another in order to deliver a stronger value proposition that really improves Service Orientated solutions in the enterprise. While until now we have been talking about REST OR WS-* it might be time to start thinking of REST AND WS-*.
